He was bone in 1948. He graduated from school of literature of Waseda University. He knew yoga through the student drama activities in 1970. He joined OKI-DO YOGA in 1973. He was touched by Master Masahiro Oki’s way of life and then become apprenticed to him. Since then, He accompanied his Master to participate in the World Peace Movement and Human Potential Movement, and has instructed yoga in 15 countries. In OKI-DO-YOGA, he mainly worked for divisions of Rules, behavior and education, and he was also engaged in many teacher trainings. He served as the bureau chief of the sixth IYTA (International Yoga Teacher’s Association) convention and the first World Yoga Championship held in Tokyo, Kyoto, Nagoya and Mishima with a total of about 8,000 participants, which were the first international yoga convention held in Japan in 1980. He was the chief of executive committee of the first Life Encounter in 1984. After Master Oki passed away, he became the director of OKI-DO-YOGA in 1985. Afterward, he has made contributions to human resource development through OKI-DO YOGA in Japan/overseas. In 1994, he established Tatsumura Yoga Institute and is engaged in human resource development which gives ear to the earth, education for holistic health consultants and yoga teachers by using ancient wisdoms of Eastern such as yoga and qi-gong.
He serves as an executive of various yoga related organizations including president of the NPO International Yoga Association, vice president of the NPO Nippon Yoga Union, president of the Tenohira-selfcare Associtation Inc., adviser of the Taiwan OKI-DO Yoga, instructor of the OKI-DO yoga in Holland, instructor of the OKI-DO holistic health center in the U.S., instructor of the OKI-DO yoga in Italy, and instructor of the OKI-DO yoga in Brazil and Argentina
